Roshan Ali Kanasro (RD)
Roshan Ali Kanasro is a visionary officer, currently serves as the Resident Director at the Planning, Development, Monitoring & Implementation (PDM&I) Cell, a directorate within the Culture, Tourism, Antiquities & Archives Department of the Government of Sindh. With a rich professional background, he boasts extensive experience across various pivotal departments of the Sindh Government.
Throughout his tenure, Roshan Ali Kanasro has spearheaded numerous projects encompassing physical infrastructure, intangible initiatives, as well as the preservation and conservation of historical landmarks and tourist destinations spanning the entire province. His previous roles include Managing Director of the Sindh Tourism Development Corporation (STDC), Director of Sindh Archives, Director of Spatial Development at the Katchi Abadi and Spatial Development Department, and Deputy Director (Works).
Drawing from his wealth of management experience, he has diligently worked towards fostering socio-economic growth while championing the rich history of the Indus Valley Civilization. Under his leadership, 126 projects under the PDMI cell have been successfully executed, highlighting his adeptness in meeting assigned targets within specified timeframes. Notably, he established a pioneering laboratory dedicated to the preservation and scholarly examination of archaeological artifacts, setting a global standard and marking a significant milestone in Pakistan’s history.
Furthermore, Roshan Ali Kanasro has demonstrated a commitment to cultural promotion and corporate social responsibility through the organization of various cultural exhibitions and educational seminars across different sectors. His tenure as Director of Spatial Development also saw advancements in the development of Katchi Abadi settlements.
During his tenure as Managing Director of the Sindh Tourism Development Corporation (STDC), he focused on the renovation and beautification of tourist sites, resorts, and hotels, aiming to revitalize Sindh’s tourism sector which had experienced a period of stagnation in previous decades.
