In departmental progress meeting on 26th March, 2024, Mr. Roshan Ali Kanasro, the Resident Director of Planning, Development, Monitoring & Implementation (PDM&I) Cell, unveiled a groundbreaking initiative termed “Honour Culture, Conserve the Nature”. This visionary endeavor underscores the imperative to safeguard both our cultural heritage and natural environment.
Mr. Kanasro articulated the essence of this initiative by stating, “As we diligently endeavor to preserve our cherished historical landmarks and archaeological treasures, emblematic of our rich cultural legacy, it is equally vital to demonstrate reverence towards our natural surroundings, encompassing the profound essence of trees, mountains, rivers, and beyond.”
“Honoring Heritage, Sustaining Nature: PDM&I Cell’s Bold Step Towards a Greener Tomorrow.”
This transformative mission spearheaded by PDM&I heralds a paradigm shift towards fostering a paperless operational environment, while concurrently digitizing intra-departmental processes, except in cases where paper remains indispensable.
Building upon this commitment, it was unanimously resolved to advocate for the utilization of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) structured fixtures and furniture in forthcoming schemes, eschewing traditional wooden alternatives. This strategic shift aims to curtail deforestation, thereby mitigating the adverse impact of rampant tree felling on our environment.
Furthermore, it was unanimously agreed that the integration of recycling methods will be actively promoted within our schemes, underscoring our collective commitment to conserving natural resources. This multifaceted approach aligns seamlessly with our overarching mission to honor our cultural heritage while safeguarding the delicate balance of our natural ecosystem.
